Jack Richard knew little about Cords when he bought "Mr. Slick" from Gail Shaw in 1996. But he proved himself a quick learner. While restoration had been begun by the previous owner, this amounted mostly to some body work and removal of all the wiring. Jack did nearly all of the restoration work himself (including the leather interior!) and was rewarded at Auburn 2005 with the Gordon Buehrig Award for best Cord and the Bill Bocock Award for owner restoration.

Jack contributes material regularly to the ACD Club Newsletter. He lives in Washington state with wife Dianna and son William.
